Activities
From the Niigata Education Centre, a list of over 80 activity descriptions in Japanese and English for use in elementary classes. Print out the Japanese version to facilitate lesson planning with homeroom teachers.


ALT Songbook
A 39 page guide to useful songs and how to use them in ES and JHS, by Corrie Ball. A fantastic resource for ALTs who would like to use songs in their classes.


English for Everyone
A bilingual teaching manual for elementary school containing lesson plans and adaptable activities. Written by Ben Shearon and Warren Decker, and translated into Japanese by Yasuhiro Kamekura. Originally published by Sendai City Board of Education April 2003.

Lesson Plans
A sample curriculum created by James Mont (Towa-cho ALT 2003-5). It includes complete lesson plans for all grades, and is an excellent resource for teachers planning a curriculum from scratch. Follow the link above to download 50 detailed lesson plans for elementary school English.
